How to Store Canning Rings – 5 Different Ways
Now that you’re in your home food preservation journey, you might be wondering how to store canning rings. They can take over your kitchen drawer in no time. Well here are some ideas for you.
Since it is not recommended to store canning rings on jars of food, what do you do with all these canning rings?! Eventually we all have boxes of lids and extra rings taking over. There are simple solutions like throwing them in box or plastic bags from Walmart or ziplock bags and throwing them in the hall closet. However, what if you want a better storage space solution? Try some of these ways to store your jar rings.

How to Store Canning Rings
Crate System
Whether you have old milk crates, wood crates, or plastic crates, these are simple because it just requires throwing the metal rings right into it. It’s just a bit more fancy than a cardboard box.
Bungee Cord System
Many people love using bungee cords to store their home canning rings. This is great for saving space. You can also check out this DIY recycled hanging rope.
Pants Hanger System
This storage method allows easy access for grabbing the canning bands during the canning process. Besides throwing them in a box, I feel like this is the next easiest solution for an easy reach. Get the pants hanger here.
The Drawer System
Much like the crates, except this is a bit more space saving. Buy a three drawer system and use one for wide mouth rings, one for regular mouth rings, and one for other canning supplies such as a jar lifter, canning lids, or even storing canning recipes. Another good idea is to organize a little more by placing rings around a paper towel roll.
Curtain Rod
Hang rings from your canning jar shelves with a curtain rod and some s hooks. This is great because everything stays in the canning storage area.
Paper Towel Roll Holder
Personally, I have not used this method, yet. But, it’s super cute. Buy a paper towel roll holder and hang it vertically on a wall.
