How to Make Homemade Coleslaw
This coleslaw will have you never buying store bought coleslaw again. I’m going to teach you how to make homemade coleslaw that will knock your socks off! I don’t even like coleslaw, but this coleslaw is so good.
How to Make Homemade Coleslaw
The first step in making homemade coleslaw is to gather all your ingredients. Having a food processer comes in handy, but if you don’t have one, a cheese grater will work too.
Second step, quarter your cabbage and start shredding.
Third step, shred or dice your pickles, carrot, and onion. I like to use a food chopper for the onion and carrot.
Next up, mix together the rest of your ingredients.
Put it in the fridge for a few hours or a few days and then enjoy!
It really is that simple!
Coleslaw
- 1 head cabbage (shredded)
- 1 vidalia onion (chopped)
- 1/2 cup pickles (diced)
- 1 carrot (diced or shredded)
- 1 cup mayo
- 2 tsp salt
Remove outer layer of cabbage. Quarter the cabbage and either place in food processor or shred by hand.
Shred or dice the onion, pickles, and carrot. Add to the cabbage.
Add in the mayo and salt. Mix thoroughly.
Chill in fridge.
Homemade coleslaw is a great dish to bring for a potluck or if you are ever invited over to a friend’s house for dinner but you don’t want to arrive empty handed. It’s one of the best dishes ever for a barbeque. I love making this with my ribs along with some baked beans.
