Minimal baby essentials. What do you really need? There are so many baby products out there. Here is my list of minimal baby essentials so that you aren’t filling your house with a bunch of wasted money. Quite honestly, this is probably the first year, not just newborn. Companies are trying to condition us to think we need all the things to take care of these little humans, but we really don’t. It is all a marketing scheme to get moms to buy way more than they need.
When I was pregnant with my first child, I wanted all the things. I also got ALL THE THINGS. Between me and both Grandma’s, there was nothing we didn’t have.
With each subsequent pregnancy, I’ve pared down my baby essentials substantially. I’ve learned what I’ll really use and what things just take up space. You don’t need near as much stuff as the product companies want you to think you do.
My list of baby essentials
1. White Noise machine
5. Any old back pack. Mine is a clearance back pack from walmart. You don’t need a fancy $60 diaper bag.
If you want to physically see these items, go check out the video I made for this post.
While you’re preparing for baby
Don’t forget to prepare for yourself also. Postpartum isn’t a grand time. Check out my post on things nobody warns you about so you can be a bit more prepared.
